United States and Latin America: Explaining the Development Gap
ABSTRACT
This conference explored the main arguments offered in a book edited by Francis Fukuyama, Falling Behind: Explaining the Development Gap between Latin America and the United States (2008). The articles included in this book look at the causes that prevented Latin American countries from setting political regimes capable of establishing the rule of law and an effective protection of property rights.
