Liberty, Subsidiarity, and Federalism in the History of European Integration

ABSTRACT

This conference examined the role played by the concepts of federalism and subsidiarity in the history of modern European integration. In the process, it investigated both the liberal and the anti-liberal impulses at work in the history of the European Union.
