Liberty and Responsibility in the Works of Franz Kafka
ABSTRACT
This conference explored the themes of liberty and responsibility in two of the novels and in one of the short stories of Franz Kafka. The events in these works challenge the reader to consider how human freedom can be seriously compromised when confronted by absurd and incomprehensible bureaucratic forces, and whether it is possible to be truly free in such circumstances.
