Executive Power, Liberty, and Constitutionalism in the Writings of Jacques Necker and Germaine de Staël
ABSTRACT
This conference explored the views of Jacques Necker and Madame de Stael in responding to the French Revolution with regard to the relationship between executive and legislative power preserving liberty under a limited constitutional government. It also examined their comparative analysis of the British and American constitutional orders as examples for France to emulate.
