ABSTRACT
This conference, made possible by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, brought together scholars from Japan, China, and the surrounding region to examine and debate Adam Smith's moral philosophy and free market economic theories in his two major works: The Theory of Moral Sentiments and Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.
